Most of the time, yes - HOWEVER, it's going to depend on if you are the tenant or the owner, and if you're talking about renters insurance or homeowners insurance, and if there IS any insurance in place, and if the carpet is part of the building, or contents.

  • How does medical insurance work with maternity leave?

You need to get the specifics from your employer or insurance carrier. Preferably you should check with both and make sure they give you the same answers. Generally speaking, health insurance coverage terminates when employment terminates, though you may extend coverage at your own expense through a COBRA policy. You should also verify the terms of your maternity leave and how your health insurance is funded during that period.

If YOU are not living in your house, then your house is NOT owner occupied. You will need insurance to reflect that the house is not owner occupied - some people call this landlord insurance.

  • How can I avoid having to pay dog insurance?

Well, not knowing what state you are in, this is kind of tricky to answer, so I will answer as if you were living in California. I assume that you are talking about homeowners or renter's insurance. Some companies will put a dog exclusion on their policies and therefore will not cover if the dog bites. Others will waive the exclusion for an extra premium, and that price will vary from company to company. You should shop around for insurance to get the best possible rate. I would seek out an independent insurance agent who represents many carriers, has access to wholesale brokers and who can really look around for you for a good rate. This si the only option I see if you don't want to get rid of the dog. Now, as far as breeds are concerned, there are known breeds that do have a tendency towards biting, such as Rottweilers, Akitas, German Shepherds, Dobermans and Pit bulls....now, please don't tell me that there is no "dangerous breed", because there ARE. I have seen enough dog bites to last me forever. There are some breeds that were meant for protection, as they show a biting tendency in the particular breed. Labradors are not meant for protection, therefore their temperaments are not usually aggressive. All in all, a dog is a dog is a dog. If you scare it, spook it or startle it, no amount of taming will keep the dog from defending itself....and yes, that includes a Yorkie....

  • What is the difference between private insurance and insurance you get through your work?
  • Preggy with #1!'s avatar
    Asked by Preggy ...
  • Best Answer

Private insurance means, not welfare health insurance. Private insurance is insurance through a company, not the government. It can be group insurance, through your employer, or it can be individual insurance. Your work insurance is group insurance. It's private insurance, unless you work for the government. If your plan is only on you, it's individual insurance. It's like saying, what's the difference between an apple, and blue. Totally not related - so hard to compare.
